About Me

Today's agenda: Love God, love people, and laugh.

I'm a Minnesota girl living in the beautiful country of South Africa! I'm teaching a little, but mostly just learning a lot.

Fun facts are cooler than biographies so here goes...

1. I have 4 incredible sisters. If you take the first letter of each of our names in order from youngest to oldest it spells CREAM. Coincidence? Or oddly careful family planning?

2. I like to write music. My best work (with co-writer Erin Bankson) is a song that asks some of the deepest questions of humanity like "Which came first, the chicken or the egg?" and "Is the color blue, the same for me and you?"

3. I am one of the 12% of people in their right mind. #lefthandpride

4. Nibings is a word to include both nieces and nephews. My 10 niblings are the best nibs an aunt could ask for. (I LOVE AND MISS YOU SO MUCH Adalina, Adele, Analiese, Azalea, Caryn, Garrett, Ronan, Waylon, Winston, and Wycliffe)

5. According to the University of MN, I am a master of children (aka education), but the truth is that children are the real masters. They're masters of imagination and hope. That is something I deeply admire.

 lot.

WARNING:  This blog represents one limited experience with Peace Corps South Africa.

While I hope my posts inform and challenge those who read them, please remember this is just one small piece of a nation sized puzzle. I can in no way accurately represent the diverse cultures and experiences of ALL South Africans or ALL Peace Corps Volunteers. I’ll try to steer clear of generalizations and simply share my own personal stories from this awesome adventure.
